In a series of presentation we will go through the research fields of the scientific computing groups at the department of mathematics and computer science at FU and at close-by institutes.
The topics will range from numerics of PDEs with applications in medicine and optics via algorithms for rare event simulation in molecular research to computational mathematics in systems biology and bioinformatics and aspects of high performance computing and visual data analysis.
For every topic experts will be present and will outline their research agenda. Participants will get detailed insights regarding potential topics for Master or PhD thesis.
