This course will treat nonlinear dynamic effects that appear in solitary lasers, laser networks or integrated laser structures with optical perturbations. These nonlinear issues are of particular interest for specific devices used within the telecommunication area, e.g. for the realization of short regular pulse trains, the stabilization of data signals or for chaotic time series production which can be used for data encryption. Within the course the students will work themselves into recent literature on one specific topic and learn how to present the mail results.
