The zero sets of the polynomials in two variables can be viewed as geometric objects-more precisely as plane algebraic curves. In the seminar we will look at the geometry of these curves: tangents, singularities, inflection points,... We will introduce the projective geometry. The main result of the seminar will be Bezout's theorem on the number of points of intersection of two curves.
