Transfer operators can be used for the analysis of complex dynamical systems, which arise for instance in molecular dynamics, oceanography, atmospheric sciences, and electrical networks. In this Seminar, we will introduce the basics of transfer operators, learn how to apply them to the aforementioned application areas, and investigate recently developed numerical tools for their analysis.

Vorkenntnisse aus Analysis, Lineare Algebra und Numerik sind vorausgesetzt. Wahlweise Kenntnisse aus Stochastik, dynamischer Systeme, oder Numerik von gewöhnlicher und partieller Differentialgleichungen sind von Vorteil.
